Smokehouse Butter Sauce for Bread Pudding
Ingredients
- 3/4 cups sugar
- 3 egg yolks
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch dissolved in ¼ cup water
- 3 tablespoons melted butter
- 2 teaspoons white vanilla
- 1 ½ cups boiling water
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
Preparation
Cream sugar, eggs and butter. Add cornstarch mixture. Add boiling water slowly.
Cook in double boiler until thickened, stirring frequently. Add vanilla and mix
thoroughly.
