Cheese Grits

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup grits
  • 3 cups boiling water
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 4 tablespoons butter, chunked into pieces
  • 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 8 ounces grated sharp cheddar cheese

Preparation

Boil the water and add grits and salt. Cook until done. Remove from heat and let cool a bit before adding eggs, cayenne and cheese. Add salt and pepper as needed. Pour into a greased dish and bake for one hour at 350 degrees.
